I just came up with this guy while writing the upcoming chapter of "Wild Wendy". He's a long-serving Cold War vet who is now in charge of the Air Guard station in Juneau, Alaska, though maintaining the Major's rank that he achieved in the Air Force. The F-102's and their cousins, the F-106's, were known for being chill, low-key, but strong-willed personalities. That balance of even-temperedness and resolve served well when playing chicken with their opposite numbers in the Soviet forces. After his term in the Air Force ended, he transferred to the Air National Guard, moving to various places before finally taking charge in Juneau. I didn't think I'd be sketching this guy so soon, he just jumped in my lap and started nudging my hand until I finally did something.
